Rain Chan has worked with leading designers, photographers, film makers and brands throughout her 15-year fashion and film industry career. With a lifelong affinity for photography and texture, Rain found herself immersed in the world of pleats after a conversation with a Savile Row pattern maker led her to the factory of a master pleater in North London. The art of the centuries-old craft immediately captivated her, aligning her passions for sculpture, architecture, cinema and nature with an ambition to revive the dying art of the pleat. With this mission in mind, she launched Cahaya Studios in 2023, aiming to raise awareness and elevate interest for a new generation of craft-curious consumers. The result is a brand of season-less, perennial pleat designs that push creative and technical possibilities while respecting the tradition of the craft. With a passion for the art, architecture and nature and a fascination for the poetry of everyday life, she combines her influences into a unique vision and lasting legacy for Cahaya Studios.

BUSINESS

Outside of this creative world, she has developed a career with Britannia Elevation Capital. After almost a decade of experience in the luxury brands sector, building commercial partnerships between Asian clients and major British and Asian businesses across the real estate, retail and automotive industries. Through her role of Head of Asia for British Polo Day she has built relationships with key industry pioneers and thought leaders in Asia. Recently, she joined Golden Peaks Capital Holdings as VP China focused on green energy projects across the globe.

Rain loves cinema and photography. Rain has recently enjoyed developing her Ikebana through conscious connection.
